Use your insurance

We are excited to announce we are in-network with most large insurance providers like UnitedHealthcare, Anthem BCBS, Aetna and Cigna!

Insurance does vary from state to state. Want to know if we take your insurance plan? Email your insurance information to billing@getmanatee.com or book a session!

If we’re out-of-network, our team can help you figure out reimbursement options. We also provide you with a superbill, a detailed document that allows you to bill insurance directly for reimbursement.

Paying for care

Here are some other ways you can maximize your benefits as you’re getting care with us:

Out-of-network benefits

  • On certain plans, you may be able to submit claims and get all or part of each session reimbursed by your health insurance company.

Wellness or mental health stipends

  • Some companies offer stipends for wellness or mental health that can be designated for Manatee services.

FSA/HSA

  • If you have a flexible spending account (FSA) or health saving account (HSA), you can use those pre-tax funds towards sessions with us.

FAQ

  • We are not currently accepting Medicare or Medicaid Insurance does vary from state to state. If you want to know if we take your insurance plan, email your insurance information to billing@getmanatee.com or book your session!

  • You’ll want to get an answer to this question before your first session. Every insurance company handles superbills a little bit differently and it often depends on the type of plan you have. Some will reimburse you for 100% of what you paid, some only reimburse 40-60%, and others don’t accept superbills for therapy at all.

Here are the average sessions and length that your insurance will want to know if you are asking about pre-approval:

    • Code 90832: 9 Child therapy sessions (30 mins each)

    • Code 90834: 9 Child therapy sessions (45 mins each)

    • Code 90846: 3 Parent sessions (30 mins each)

    • Code 90847: 3 Family sessions (45 mins each)

  • Here are some questions you can ask when you contact your insurance company:

    • Do I have mental health benefits?

    • What is my deductible and has it been met?

    • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

    • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

    • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

    • What is the time frame for reimbursing when the superbill is submitted?

    • Are couples or family sessions covered?

    • Are group therapy sessions covered?

    • How do I submit a superbill?

Having a superbill doesn’t guarantee that your insurer will reimburse you, but it can definitely increase your chances of getting reimbursed if you want to file a claim and many people use them with great success!
