Meet your therapist

Hello!

I’m Karen Luxon

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

⭐ About Karen

I am a licensed child and family therapist with 20+ years of experience working with kids, parents, and families, of which 5+ years was working with kids on the Autism spectrum and developmental disabilities.

Do your kid or family need life skills, communication skills, strategies to manage your mind, mood, or outburst? Are you struggling with trauma from your past or present or fear of the future?

💬 Why did you become a therapist for kids and families?

Being human (and being a kid or parent) isn't always easy and not everyone has someone safe to talk to without fear of judgement, shame or guilt.

Becoming a therapist allows me to support families in learning skills to have a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.

What families are saying about Karen

“I am way more patient now. You know as a dad… I tend to lecture… now I've learned to listen to my daughter first before making conclusions. I’ve also noticed that we are both way more comfortable talking about our feelings. We had a great connection with Karen, it was clear she had a lot of experience.”

— Manatee dad

“Karen made me realize I need to be the one in charge, so my daughter feels safe again. Over the past year, my daughter has been pulling away, spending lots of time alone in her room, but since working with Karen, she’s way more social and enjoys her time with our family again.”
